About Me
I'm Cameron Kohlmann; I'm a senior from Waukesha, Wisconsin. I'm a double major in English and Political Science. After graduation, I plan on going to law school and pursuing a career in criminal defense.
Focus
I focused on the history of the area, as well as the factors that drive park attendance nationwide. The historical focus was the former site of Black Warrior Town, near Sipsey, AL. The attendance section relied upon both state and national parks, in the Southwest and Southeast.
Reflection
The biggest facet of the project for me was researching. There is a startling lack of information about the Walker County area, so it was a challenge to find reliable sources for information. I had to get creative, and find information about other areas that could reasonably be applied to the Walker County area. It was an enjoyable challenge to pull demographically similar areas from around the country in an effort to predict what will make people come to the park.
